This movie will depict the battle against the villain group Shadow Galactica, the final story arc. The film is jointly produced by Toei Animation and Studio Deen.

Sailor Moon (Japanese: 美少女戦士セーラームーン, Romaji: Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn) is a Japanese shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi. It was originally serialized in Nakayoshi from 1991 to 1997, compiled into 18 volumes.

The series follows the adventures of a schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino as she transforms into Sailor Moon to search for a magical artifact, the Legendary Silver Crystal. She leads a group of comrades, the Sailor Soldiers, called Sailor Guardians in later editions, as they battle against villains to prevent the theft of the Silver Crystal and the destruction of the Solar System.

Sailor Moon is one of the best-selling shōjo manga series, having sold over 35 million copies worldwide. The first TV anime adaptation ran from 1992 to 1997 with the title Sailor Moon, followed by an original net animation (ONA) adaptation reboot titled Sailor Moon Crystal which ran from 2014 to 2016 and was more faithful in adapting the original manga.
