The second cour of the TV anime Ranking of Kings began airing just yesterday, Jan. 6, 2022, and with it came a heartfelt opening theme song: Naked Hero by Vaundy!
The title "Naked Hero" 「裸の勇者」(Romaji: Hadaka no Yuusha) is a reference to protagonist Bojji, the first prince of the Kingdom of Bosse. In the first episode of the first cour, he was made fun of by the townspeople for being naked, when in reality, he gave his expensive clothing away wholeheartedly to Kage, his first true friend.
Vaundy （バウンディ） is a Japanese singer-songwriter and producer who skyrocketed to fame in 2019. At the young age of 21 (and while still in university), he has become a YouTube sensation for viral videos such as Tokyo Flash (2019)...
...and Fukakouryoku (2019).
As a producer, he collaborates with other famous artists and groups, such as in the case of Omokage, a song he wrote specifically for THE FIRST TAKE and was sung by milet, Aimer, and Lilas Ikuta.
We're not surprised Vaundy and his music were chosen for a thought-provoking series like Ranking of Kings. He has had that introspective vibe ever since! Check out his music video proejct, Shiwaawase 「しわあわせ」, whose lyrics describe the overlapping of hearts like the formation of wrinkles.
