'Star Wars: Visions': Disney releases trailer for new Star Wars anime

After the first look released last July 2021, Disney finally unveils the trailer for the anime anthology series set in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Visions.

The news was announced on Twitter and YouTube, where the nearly 2 minute trailer was released. Both the Japanese and English dub trailers are available for viewing. In it, various clips of the different stories in the anthology are seen, beginning with a narration from one of the episodes. A montage of colorful scenes mixed with vibrant action, showcasing the blend of Japanese anime influences to the world of Star Wars. All while accompanied by a swelling electro remix of the Star Wars theme.

Each of the scenes show the different animation studios involved in the project. These Japanese animation studios and the episodes they produced include:


  • Kamikaze Douga: responsible for the episode “The Duel”

  • Geno Studio (Twin Engine): studio behind the episode “Lop and Ochō”

  • Studio Colorido (Twin Engine): produced the “Tatooine Rhapsody” episode

  • Trigger: will produce two episodes, “The Twins” and “The Elder”

  • Kinema Citrus: for “The Village Bride”

  • Science Saru: for the episodes “Akakiri” and “T0-B1”

The Japanese cast for the series has been confirmed to include the following actors: Masaki Terasoma, Akeno Watanabe, Junya Enoki, Ryoko Shiraishi, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Akio Kaneda, Takaya Tsuchishi, Yuichi Nakamura, and many other actors for each of the episodes.


The English dub of the anime will include a star-studded cast of actors for the dubbing. These include: Neil Patrick Harris, Lucy Liu, Henry Golding, George Takei, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kimiko Glenn, Alison Brie, David Harbour, Kyle Chandler, Karen Fukuhara, Simu Liu, and many more.


The show will be available for streaming on Disney Plus on September 22.
