'Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku' announces stage adaptation for May 2022

Official accounts have been opened to announce a stage adaptation of Fujita's romcom series Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku. Performances will run from May 11 to 15, 2022 at the Theater Sun Mall in Tokyo.

Japanese actor Kazumi Doi (土井一海) will play the role of Hirotaka Nifuji, while actress Marina Horiuchi (堀内まり菜) will star as Narumi Momose.

Doi is notable for playing the role of Kite Eishirou in the Musical: Prince of Tennis (TeniMyu) franchise. Meanwhile, Horiuchi is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and idol who is a member of mixed media project LiveRevolt.


Tickets and other relevant information regarding the stage performances have not been revealed as of writing.

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku (Japanese: ヲタクに恋は難しい, Romaji: Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii) is a Japanese webmanga series written and illustrated by Fujita. It began serialization in Comic Pool (a joint web manga publication project by Ichijinsha and Pixiv) on Nov. 6, 2015.


An anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures aired from April to June 2018 on the Noitamina programming block.
